SEDI-ATI has acquired a very specific know-how in the integration of an optical fiber into a metallic needle. Fiber optic needles are ideal to perform non-destructive and real-time fluorescence imaging, as well as Raman measurements.

SEDI-ATI has developped a very specific know-how in the integration of optical fibers into metallic needles for industrial applications.
A variety of optical fibers ranging from singlemode fibers to large core multimode fibers up to 1000 μm can be encased within a custom needle.
All our fibers are USP class VI certified, non toxic and biocompatible.
The bevel point of the needle can be either flat or angled according to your specifications. A pyramidal end as for a standard injection needle can also be proposed. Any variations of the angles of the main bevel and the side bevels are possible.
Our assembly technique avoids any stress on the fiber during the polishing of the bevel point.
The needle probe can be equipped with different types of connectors among which FC/PC, FC/APC, SMA, free-standing connectors, or others on demand.
Besides, a special treatment of the needle gives excellent material penetration (wood, fruit…) just like a syringe needle.
