High-temperature optical fiber cables
You are working at high-temperature levels? SEDI-ATI Fibre Optiques has the solution! Indeed, we have designed high-temperature cables for applications ranging from 150 °C to 1000 °C.
Keyfeatures
- Temperature level: from +150 °C to +1000 °C,
- Fiber type: multimode from 100 µm to 600 µm,
- Coating or material: polyimide, metal (copper or aluminum) ou sapphire,
- Sealing fiber / connector: epoxy, brazing or high-temperature sealing,
- Type of tubing / buffer: stainless steel, Peek or Titanium,
- Connectors: SMA, ST metal ferrule, FCXtreme®, or stainless-steel connector at one end in cold zone,
- Length: from 20 m to 100 m depending on the buffer type (up to +500 °C), or 2 m maximum at +1000 °C.
SEDI-ATI Fibres Optiques offers fiber-optic patchcords* for high-temperature up to +1000 °C.
The assembly is done following the specifications of the high-temperature environment, and the materials used to build such patchcords depends on the temperature
level:
- polyimide, metallic (copper, aluminum, gold) coatings or
sapphire fibers. - peek, stainless-steel, inconel or monocoil stainlesssteel
jackets (external diameter can be as small as 1
mm). - stainless-steel connectors: SMA, ST with metallic
ferrule, or FCXtreme®.
These high-temperature fiber-optic patchcords can be mated in stainless-steel ST, FC or SMA bulkhead adapters. We offer both square-flange and D-style round adapter versions.
Caution: the connectors cannot withstand temperatures as high as the patchcords. Depending on the environment, the connectorisations and the different technologies used will have to be adapted.
SEDI-ATI also offers a complete selection of bulkhead and inline vacuum compatible fiber-optic feedthroughs.
Moreover, this patchcord is compatible with our range of 7-fiber reflection probes (1 transmitting fiber and
6 receiving fibers), for high-temperature applications up to 400°C. Our FCXtreme® connector used is the smallest multi-way connector on the market.

*For high-temperature specific patchcords, it is essential to define where is the hightemperature area, over what distance, and what temperature gradient it will be subjected to.
